8. FINANCE SECRETARIAT 

            Finance and Political Departments were established in 1884A.D.  during the period of salarjung II (Mir Laiq Ali Khan). These Departments were bifurcated in 1892. In this way a separate Finance Department came into existence. The functions of the Revenue Secretariat were assigned to the Finance Secretary in 1894. In 1896 the Revenue branch was taken away from the Finance Secretary, so that Finance became  an independent unit during the period of George Casson Walker who was made Finance Minister in 1905. He introduced during his period of premiership several fiscal and administrative reforms. In the department and reorganized it on modern lines of British Patterns . All the records of this Secretariat are in Persian Urdu. some Farmans are also available.
