2. ARMY HEADQUARTERS

            The Hyderabad State maintained the huge number of army personal among the Indian States i.e. Regular Forces, Irregular Forces, Golkonda Brigade, the Imperial Service Troops,  the Mahboob Regiment and volunteers also.  Irregular Forces existed during the early period of Asaf Jah  I which  consisted Arabs, Rohillas, Afghans, Sikhs, Rajputs and Rathore also, their strength were increased till the creation of Hyderabad Contigent Forces, the large number of Irregular Forces reduced and merged in Regular Forces and Golkonda Brigade. Under the reorganization of the army department of Hyderabad  Government, the Army Head Quarters was composed for controlling the branches with commander along with two principal officers. Some important functions of this department  i.e. general staff branch, and complete responsibility of the general staff army  branch. Army Head Quarters had  a few important units and controlled them , i.e. Forces of Mir Mahboob Ali Khan, divisional Head Quarter Poineer Company, Calvalry Band, Stiring Band, Garrison Battalion, Army Training School. All records  of this department are in Urdu and English and these records were transferred to Archives  in 1951.
