36.  INTRODUCTION OF REGIONAL OFFICES OF ANDHRA PRADESH  STATE ARCHIVES  

              The activities and functions of the Archives Department were decentralized and extended to the Districts by opening Six Regional Offices of Andhra Pradesh State Archives at Tirupati, Visakhapatnam, Warangal, Rajahmundry, Anantapur and Guntur.  Each Regional Office is meant to cover 3 or 4 Districts in its jurisdiction to centralize and preserve the specified non-current records pertaining to the period from 1859 to 1930 onwards hither to preserved in the respective Collectorates Records.  These Records would be supplied to the Collectorates as and when they required on requisitions.  Except the Regional Offices in Visakhapatnam and Rajahmundry, all the other 4 Regional Officers are located in the University campus itself for the purpose of printing  provide the facilities to the research scholars and other academicians of the University to make use of the records for their research.  The record available for reference at the following above mentioned 6 Regional Offices.
